La Nef offers new subscribers more connected access to the social economy.

La Nef, the leading French ethical and 100% transparent financial institution, offers individuals and companies savings products that serve the social economy.

The expectations of the public in terms of investment have changed a lot. Many French people, young and old, now want to give their savings meaning by directing them towards projects of environmental, social or cultural significance. They expect their credit institution to be transparent and efficient, with simplified and guaranteed subscription processes for those who want to go paperless in doing so.

Back to La Nef’s success story

Formed as a cooperative more than 30 years, La Nef has a range of social savings products aimed at private individuals that allow them to donate interest to an association or direct funds towards ethical projects, for example. Similarly, the proposed consumer credit offer targets personal projects related to the energy transition. La Nef will also support professionals with financing if the project concerned has a positive ecological, social and/or cultural aspect.

Since 2016 and the launch of its ethical savings account, the success of the La Nef web platform – with an influx of 10,000 new customers in autumn 2018 – has forced the company to progress further with its
digital transformation. In 2019, it launched a second phase of transformation in collaboration with Netheos, which enabled automation of both the process of entering customer files and the authentication of documents supplied.

Philippe Pascal, La Nef

“If something is missing, the customer will notice this during the subscription process and can resolve the problem immediately. We achieve a completion rate of almost 70%, where it was less than 30% before. It really changed our everyday life”

Philippe Pascal, Consumer Market Manager, La Nef.

Automating a number of tasks and controls has dramatically increased La Nef employees’ productivity, as they now handle three times as many cases as previously. And subscribers, who sometimes only sent the first page of their tax notice or had to wait until the end of the subscription process to discover that they could not open an account for their grandchildren, are now alerted automatically in real time.

While manual creation of a single account took around 20 minutes, not to mention typing errors, the Netheos solution avoids human intervention: accounts are created in just minutes and errors on forms are greatly reduced.

“Where we used to clear 40 subscriptions per calendar day, thanks to
Netheos we now reach between 50 and 60
subscriptions per working day. Simplifying the journey certainly explains this take-off.”

Philippe Pascal, Consumer Market Manager, La Nef.

Driven by the public’s interest in its products since the lockdown, La Nef wants to become the leading player in the field of ethical finance in France. Its numerous projects include the construction of a joint current account offer, a life insurance range for individuals or the extension of its payment and collection solutions for professionals.
