CDC Habitat, France’s leading landlord, is disrupting codes and offering its customers a fully digital rental process.

The real estate sector has transformed significantly over the past four years in the face of a series of technological, regulatory and behavioural changes. Property administrators put user experience at the heart of their digital strategy, revolutionising the entire value chain from case management to the end customer.

 

BACK TO CDC HABITAT’S SUCCESS STORY

The CDC Habitat group, France’s biggest landlord, is throwing out the rulebook and offering its customers a fully digital rental process.

Launched in January 2017, Mon espace location [my rental space] became the first platform on the rental management market to fully digitalise its processes, from the housing application to payment of the first month’s rent.

The observation was simple: the Intermediary Rental Housing programme launched by CDC Habitat under the name Vivelli in 2015, which was very successful, encountered a significant jump in requests. This meant that it needed to find a solution to not only respond to business logic, but also to the challenge of digitisation, a societal phenomenon where the user experience is the key to the strategy.

Indeed, the selfcare rental process is highly regulated, requiring not only the submission of mandatory supporting documents for the creation of an application file (CNI, tax notice, bank details, etc.) but also involving an electronic lease signature. Compilation of the file represented a major long-term task for managers, who had to collect and analyse the supporting documents themselves, and often faced several round trips with the prospect in order to finalise the file.

In order to support its rental management teams and help them focus on actions with greater added value, the CDC Habitat group chose to turn to a trusted service provider in 2016. This strategic alliance was led by Netheos, an expert in this field, who were able to offer a complete, automated, innovative workflow compliant with regulations.

Today, Mon Espace Location represents approximately 5000 current files and 4500 leases that are digitalised and signed electronically.

CDC Habitat is continuing its digitalisation this year by offering the SLS online survey. The new commercial site will be launched in October and will become the single entry point for their customers, tenants, applicants and prospects, from searching for their home, to rental or acquisition, to signing the lease or purchase commitment.
