The CNP Assurances group, a pioneer in the personal insurance market in France, has distinguished itself in its partnership strategy by reinforcing its historical offer with digitalized underwriting processes.

The insurance industry is also facing a series of complex changes: technological, regulatory, behavioral, etc. Indeed, the latter must adapt to new consumption modes where digital omnichannelity becomes the keystone of the customer experience.

The most visible development in the insurance industry is online underwriting. In fact, it is growing steadily from 3% of sales in 2012 to 8% in 2016 (source: Accenture). These regulatory and technological changes therefore encourage innovation and the creation of new ways of distributing insurance.

The Group CNP Assurancesa pioneer in the personal insurance market in France, has distinguished itself in its partnership strategy by strengthening its historical offer through digitalized subscription processes.

In 2013, CNP Assurances was one of the first insurers to implement a digitalized subscription mode via an electronic signature program that allowed them to increase the number of partners and significantly accelerate their integration. The electronic signature having borne fruit, it was essential for the group to continue its development by placing the user experience at the heart of its strategy at the time of onboarding and file creation.

« We realized that we had more and more quick wins to do at the onboarding level. That is, from the registration of the signatory to the delivery of the documents to the subscriber »

Frank Van Caenegem, CISO – CNP Assurances

Indeed, subscribing to regulated products in selfcare requires not only the electronic signature of documents, but also the submission of a file of supporting documents (DDA, KYC, solvency, etc.). This leads to a very significant rate of incomplete and/or non-compliant files, in addition to the rate of abandonment associated with the switch from digital to paper. Faced with the significant work required to develop the technology for a robust model that reconciles KYC and user experience, CNP Assurances made the choice in 2017 to turn to a trusted partner. This strategic alliance, conducted alongside Netheosan expert in this field, and able to offer a turnkey workflow for compliant, automated, and innovative digital underwriting.

« Netheos offers a low-code subscription path for the integrator that will allow us to accept today and tomorrow all the new technologies needed to achieve the finest user experience »

Préfon, Caisse Nationale de Prévoyance de la Fonction Publique, which has a group insurance contract with CNP Assurances, has turned to its partner to offer its customers a digitalized solution for signing up for the contract. The CNP Assurances group responded to the request by offering the Netheos solution.

This new membership mode was put into production in less than 3 months and the first tests were conclusive. Indeed, to date, Préfon has improved its transformation rate to reach 55% in selfcare. The completion of these files is also accelerated as Christian Carrega indicates:

« We have dramatically reduced our case processing time from an average of 34 days to 2 days »

Christian Carrega, CEO of Préfon

The objective of the CNP Assurances group is of course to contribute to the performance of the digital offer of its partners and to multiply the use cases to maintain its leadership in the sector.
